Fiss is a clustered settlement, with the church in the centre and the houses built closely next to one another to save space and maximise the amount of land around the village. The farmers of Fiss were always self-sufficient. Their barns were just big enough to feed their own families, which is why we also decided not to increase our livestock and leave the barn directly on the south side of the farmhouse.
